“The North Face”这个名称源于山上最冷、最难攀爬的北坡。The North Face的品牌故事却起源于一个海滩。更准确地说，是源自旧金山一个海拔只有150英尺的North Beach地区。1966年，两个狂热的徒步旅行者凭着满腔热情，创立了一个小小的登山用品零售店。不久，小店被命名为The North Face，成为高性能攀登和背包装备零售商。
